Plastic in Production
Plastic HDPE Containers
HDP are now equipped to recycle plastic containers. Since the acquisition of our plastic
extrusion subsidiary a finished product can be made out of empty plastic (HDPE) 25 litre containers.
The HDP Waste Management Scheme will arrange the collection of all the empty containers. On arrival
at our Plant in Shoreham, the containers will be washed and then granulated (picture right).
The manufactured product from the regrind will usually be supplied back into the printing industry
as cutting sticks for guillotines, however, a UK Company is now also using HDPE regrind in their
production schedules to manufacture a wide range of industrial products. The regrind is a tougher
material than virgin HDPE, and the new product will last longer.
Products made out of the regrind can be seen at our premises: these include CUTTING STICKS,
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT.
Please remember that plastic will never bio-degrade and landfill will shortly not be an alternative,
recycling is the answer to most of this planet's needs so please can you plant the seeds for the
next generation by not using landfill for your plastic waste and start using the HDP recycling
route.
Solutions For Solvents
Waste Solvents - A New Use - Kilnfuel
When asked, most managers responsible for waste removal prefer the option of recycling over landfill
or incineration. At HDP we reassure all potential clients our vow of "recycle first". A perfect
example of this is a commitment to a new grade of industrial fuel. This blending of predominantly
waste paint, ink adhesive and solvent based organic waste can now be distilled into a new fuel
called "Kilnfuel".
Energy intensive industries are a ready market for alternative fuels providing that it is beneficial
to the user and complies with all the regulations protecting the ENVIRONMENT.
A process which would use this grade of fuel is particularly cement klins and older "smoke-stack"
industries that need to reduce emissions. You can help - insist on specifying the agreed destination
for your waste!
